Manchester United have reportedly made their first move to try a tempt a player dubbed "the leader of his generation" away from Barcelona.
Although the Catalan club's La Masia academy is famous for producing stars such as Xavi, Andres Iniesta and of course Lionel Messi, the club have also lost several youngsters through the years due to other clubs offering tempting deals when they are still teenagers.
The likes of Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas managed to be tempted away by English clubs when they were youngsters, and Catalan paper Sport has suggested that United are now looking to do the same with teenager winger Marc Jurado.
A player dubbed 'the leader of his generation' according to the Sport article, via Sport Witness, Jurado turned 16 on April 13 and is said to be the subject of an email sent by United to Barca enquiring about his services.
Barca are thought to be keen on keeping Jurado though, and are hoping to strike a deal with him in order to keep him at the club.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently spoke about his club's plans in the transfer window, and says they could "exploit" other clubs during football's coronavirus lockdown.
"Football is going to get back to normality at one point, and it's very important we're ready when that happens," he told Sky Sports.
