Manchester United are coping to copy Bayern Munich if they fail to sign Jadon Sancho this transfer window, reports say. The Borussia Dortmund star is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top transfer target. However, the Red Devils have been unable to bring the England international to Old Trafford so far.
Manchester United have already brought Donny van de Beek to Old Trafford, with the midfielder signing from Ajax in a £40million deal.
But Solskjaer knows more is required if the club are to win a first Premier League title since 2013, back when Sir Alex Ferguson was at the helm.
It’s an open secret that United want to sign Sancho from Dortmund, with Solskjaer first earmarking the forward as a target 18 months ago.
So far, however, Dortmund have rejected their advances with the Bundesliga giants demanding a massive £108m to part ways with their star asset.
And the Manchester Evening News say that, if the 20-year-old continues to evade the Red Devils, they’re hoping to go down the Bayern Munich route.

A year ago, the Bundesliga giants wanted to sign Leroy Sane from Manchester City.
But, when it emerged that the Germany international wouldn’t be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium, they then brought Ivan Perisic on loan as a short-term stop-gap.
United could now do the same.
Perisic’s own name has been floated in talks but the Croatia international, who was wanted by Jose Mourinho during his time at the club, is expected to join Bayern on a permanent basis.
Douglas Costa has been linked, though the Juventus star seems to be on the decline having found the net just three times last season.

And Kingsley Coman is also under consideration, despite his heroics for Bayern in the recent Champions League final.
Regarding Sancho, meanwhile, and former United star Darren Fletcher recently endorsed the signing of the 20-year-old to his old club.
He told The Metro: “At his young age, to be doing what he’s doing at that level of football is fantastic and there’s no doubt that he has got a bright future in the game.
“It’s clearly a position that Manchester United, I feel, have needed for a number of years now, somebody who naturally wants to play off that right-hand side.
“So, I think that it ticks all the boxes in that respect but – at the same time – these transfers are very, very difficult.

“Large sums of money in these times, there’s a lot of circumstances involved in it.
“It’s not just Jadon Sancho and his representatives, it’s Borussia Dortmund, it’s Manchester United and I’m sure there will be other clubs interested in him as well.
“He’d be a fantastic acquisition for anyone who gets him.”
Sancho scored 17 goals and registered 17 assists for Dortmund across all competitions last season.
But they still missed out on silverware, with Bayern winning the Bundesliga title once again.
