Man Utd backed to complete £360k transfer, Arsenal plan £42m deal
Ed Woodward transfer plan
Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will speak with investors on Tuesday.
And according to the Evening Standard, he will reiterate his plans to invest heavily in the transfer window.
Woodward recently vowed to splash the cash in the summer in a bid to close the gap with Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Old Trafford chief will discuss the club’s quarterly results to the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday and will be obliged to answer questions from investors.
Edinson Cavani to Manchester United
Manchester United should sign Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani.
That’s according to Robin van Persie, who believes the Uruguayan is a ‘goal machine’ and could bag over 25 goals each season.
Cavani, who earns an astonishing £360,000 a week and will demand similar from his next club, is set to leave the Parc des Princes after seven trophy-laden seasons and 200 goals for PSG.
“Edinson Cavani. I would definitely go for Cavani; he’s very fit, he’s a proven goalscorer, a goal machine, he has proven it at Napoli, PSG and Uruguay,” RVP told SPORTbible.
“With him, if he starts, he will get you 25 goals a season. I’ve watched him play, I’ve played against him, he is like a proper goalscorer. He lives by scoring goals so I’d go for him.”

Trialists…
Manchester United have been given permission to take two young Polish stars on trial and one prospect is expected to be in the stands at Old Trafford for the Europa League clash with Club Brugge on Thursday.
United will cast their eye over the two trialists as part of the recruitment for their under-16 side.
Both of the teenagers have featured for their national side at under-16 level.
Mateusz Lipp, who is a part of the Akademia ‘Ruch’ Chorzow academy, is a defender who has previously been on trial with Arsenal and Sampdoria.
He will feature in a friendly against Cheltenham Town this week and also sit in the stands as United look to progress to the Europa League last-16.
The second transfer target is Radoslaw Sewerys, who is also a defender who plays in the Polish top flight for Korona Kielce.
Local talent
Manchester United have embarked on a new initiative aimed at increasing their pool of local talent in order to find potential stars of the future.
The Emerging Talent Programme is to work with over 20,000 children and young people over the next three years as the Premier League club broadens its engagement with local schools and grassroots clubs across Manchester and the north west.
The project is to operate under the overall academy structure and focus on three main areas as it forms a bridge between the community and curriculum-based charitable work undertaken in over 50 local schools by the Manchester United Foundation.
The offer is there for every primary and secondary/high school to participate in a tournament or football festival to be hosted by the Emerging Talent Programme.

Time for Messi and Ronaldo to catch up?
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have a lot of catching up to do if they are to continue their sensational record as Champions League top goalscorer at the end of the season.
The Barcelona captain has finished as the leading marksman on five occasions but trails his counterpart by one, with Ronaldo topping the pile six times.
They shared the title with Neymar in the 2014-15 season after all three players netted 10 goals, however, they have only scored two apiece this campaign.
They are eight behind Haaland and Lewandowski and it is likely we will not see either of their names on the competition’s Golden Boot for the first time since Kaka won it in 2007.
