West Ham's hopes of signing Jesse Lingard this summer have been dealt a blow after Man Utd shared a clip of the midfielder scoring a fantastic solo goal in training – hinting that he might stay at Old Trafford after all.
Lingard enjoyed a productive loan spell at the London Stadium last term, scoring nine goals in 16 appearances and almost forcing his way into England's squad for the European Championships.
The 28-year-old is now back in pre-season training with United as he aims to give boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer something to think about ahead of the new season – and it seems to be working.
On Tuesday, United shared a clip of Lingard scoring a magnificent solo goal as part of a compilation video released on the club's social media channels.
West Ham are still keen on signing the midfielder and are waiting to find out whether he still has a future at Old Trafford, which it now appears he does.

Not only did the clip fuel speculation that he is still a part of Solskjaer's plans, the manager himself came out on Monday appearing to confirm Lingard's situation ahead of the new season.
He said: "He's a Manchester United player and he wants to fight for his place.
"He's come back bright, confident and with lots of energy.
"I think everyone saw what he did at the end of last season with West Ham.
"He's still in my plans. I expect him at Man Utd at the start of the season."
Solskjaer's words will be a big blow to the Hammers, who want to sign Lingard on a permanent deal after his exploits in east London last season, but are unwilling to pay the reported £30million it would cost to sign the England international.
