Man Utd’s Champions League win vs PSG broke historic Red Devils record

Manchester United’s Champions League win over PSG has seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side achieve a first in the club’s history.

The Red Devils put in a strong performance to get their European campaign started off with a win, beating last season’s runners-up 2-1.

Bruno Fernandes gave United the lead from the penalty spot after 23 minutes, missing his first attempt before Keylor Navas was called out by VAR for being off his line.

But the Premier League side were pegged back as Anthony Martial headed into his own goal in the second half.

Solskjaer’s side did not give up, though, and Marcus Rashford drove in the winner with three minutes of time left at the Parc des Princes.

It means United have won their last two games, responding to criticism after their humiliating 6-1 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford.

But the squad have managed to achieve a first in the club’s history with their latest win.

The win in Paris means United have won 10 consecutive away gams since June’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Norwich at Carrow Road.

It was followed in the 2019/20 season by wins at Brighton, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester.

While home form has been a struggle this season, wins on the road in the Carabao Cup against Luton and the Seagulls have been fought out.

And league wins away have come against the south-coast side and Newcastle.

With the win in Paris last night, it means Solskjaer has managed to achieve a feat even Sir Alex Ferguson could not manage.

United will have the chance to make it 11 consecutive away wins in November when they take on Istanbul Basaksehir in their third Champions League game.

It comes as club legend Rio Ferdinand has given goal-scorer Rashford advice on what he needs to do to become “world class” after the win against PSG.
