Manchester United star Anthony Martial has been praised by Danny Higginbotham after the club’s 3-0 win over Watford on Sunday. And the former Red Devils youth star thinks Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has improved six other players during his time at the club.
Martial delivered a fine display as Manchester United boosted their hopes of finishing in the Premier League top four with a 3-0 hammering of Watford on Sunday.
The France international scored in between strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood to ensure United pick up all three points.
And Higginbotham has hailed his play, while naming other United players who have benefitted since Solskjaer’s arrival as manager in March 2019.
“Martial has so much ability,” he wrote in his column for The Sun.
“He has everything. He has speed. He has strength. He has skill. He has the finishing ability.
“He has scored goals when he is not particularly involved in the game. He can just produce a bit of magic and suddenly the ball is in the back of the net.

“Martial is not the only player to have improved under Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
“When a manager comes in you have to look to see if the players are improving.
“And Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Fred, Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay are better and Nemanja Matic is back to the player everybody knows he is capable of being.”
Higginbotham also expressed a belief that United are making strides under Solskjaer.
“Of course, there is no disputing Martial is a better player, with 15 goals and five assists already this season,” he continued.

“What we are seeing is a shaping of the identity of the team. There are hungry players in Solskjaer’s team that want to improve and grow with the club.
“It becomes brick by brick and Martial is a key component in Solskjaer’s rebuild.”
Higginbotham thinks Martial having the trust of his manager has also led to the resurgence of the forward.
“New signing Bruno Fernandes will get most of the plaudits for his goal from the spot — he won the penalty — and had assists for Martial and Mason Greenwood,” he said.
“It was the Bruno Fernandes show but there was also so much to be positive about when it came to Martial, who scored for the third game in a row yesterday for the first time in United colours.
“He can be whatever he wants to be. The goal showed that — he took it so nonchalantly.
“Consistency is one of the things that can take him to the next level and he has got eight goals and two assists in his last 13 starts.
“More often than not, when he plays it is as the centre-forward.
“When you give consistency to a player in terms of playing time and position, you get the best out of him.”
