Nicklas Bendtner has claimed his fellow professionals used to hire sex workers on a regular basis – sometimes the day before a match.
It is just one of many explosive revelations in his new book Both Sides.
The former Arsenal man has had a wild career off the pitch, which has involved sex workers, blackmail and being punished for a Paddy Power-inspired stunt.
But his career on the pitch has seemed to fail to replicate his lifestyle away from the game, with a series of failed moves.
However, he has some incredible stories to share – one being how common the use of sex workers was between his team-mates.
And he has claimed that prostitutes are actually safer than taking home women, who he refers to as "gold-diggers".
He said: “It’s less risky than picking up girls while out on the town.
"And if you’re prone to infidelity — I read somewhere or other this applies to 46 per cent of Danes — you hardly dare do the deed with a ‘civilian’ any longer.
“Not when you’re a famous footballer. I know about loads of incidents involving prostitutes. But I know of just as many stories about extortion via social media.
"We’re talking about gold-diggers from the nightlife scene who are up for a f*** and then take a photo of you sleeping it off while you’re starkers.
“With those photos as their trump card, they can demand stuff to keep their mouths shut.
"And they do. It’s not exactly iron-clad, but at least prostitutes have a business of sorts to protect.
“So yeah, I’ve witnessed that at first hand.
"Even the day before a match when the team were gathered at the hotel in some godforsaken place.”

Bendtner is now plying his trade in the Danish fourth-tier for Tarnby FF, where he started out life as a footballer before later moving to Arsenal, after being released from Copenhagen last year.
However, he plays for the "M+32 Old Boys" – with the organiser Martin Skov Haestrup saying: “We are very happy that Nicklas wants to stay in shape with some of the guys he has known for many years.
"This opportunity is something we have been discussing for many years."
