Norwich City are investigating an Instagram post that appeared from the account of on-loan Manchester United defender Brandon Williams, according to reports.
The Athletic reports the latest social media activity will be looked into by the club. Williams, 22, appears to make middle finger sign, although it's not clear who this is directed at. He wrote in the caption: “What a beautiful day. Easy up Norwich City”. And put the location tag “Suffolk”.
The 21-year-old then posted another picture, this time of his dog. He captioned the second upload: “For the people that followed me, he's always awake." The photo of the middle finger has since been deleted.
The youngster was selected as one of the starting players in Norwich’s 4-0 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday. The already-relegated Canaries currently occupy the bottom of the Premier League – but Dean Smith has hopes they can at least try and jump a position.
Williams, who is on loan from United, has become a key player under Smith and remains a starter, with Dimitris Giannoulis falling down in the pecking order.
Fans of the Norfolk club had unveiled a banner at Villa Park last weekend when the club’s relegation was confirmed, asking for him to stay.
Last month, Smith said of the player to NorfolkLive: “I’d say he has improved and he is a very coachable player. And I think, like most of the loans that we have got here, the biggest compliment I can give them is that they feel like Norwich City footballers, and they have embraced being at Norwich City.

“I think that’s really important because you look at the size of the clubs that both Brandon [Williams] and Billy [Gilmour] have come from, Mathias [Normann] has come from Russia, Ozan [Kabak] from Germany.
"But they’ve embraced being Norwich City footballers. I think that’s a big plus, not just for them but for our football club as well.
“But Brandon has improved a hell of a lot and, you only have to speak to him yourself, he needed probably this season to get away from Manchester United and play regular games.”
Watford were relegated along with Norwich after their defeat to Crystal Palace. But the third spot is still not yet decided, with Leeds in 18th, Burnley in 17th, and Everton in 16th following their 2-1 win over Leicester on Sunday.
Daily Star Sport has approached Norwich and Manchester United for a response.
