Oscar reveals it would be a ‘DREAM’ to return to Chelsea this summer, seven years after he left the club… as the Brazilian praises incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino, claiming he is a ‘good coach’ and will be a success
- Oscar has spent seven years in China since leaving Chelsea for Shanghai SIPG
- The Brazilian was popular at Stamford Bridge, playing more than 200 games
- He insisted it would be a ‘dream’ to return the club if he moved on this summer
Former Chelsea star Oscar has opened the door for a shock return to the club, by claiming he ‘dreams’ to play for the Blues again.
The attacking midfielder spent five years with the club between 2012 and 2017, racking up 38 goals and 36 assists across 203 games.
He was part of the team that lifted the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho in 2014-15, while he also won the League Cup and Europa League during his spell at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian departed to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG (now Shanghai Port FC) in 2016 for a £67m fee and has remained there ever since, with many believing his time in the major European leagues was long gone.
However, Oscar – who also won 51 caps for Brazil but hasn’t played since he left Chelsea – insisted he would love to return to the club.

‘It’s of course a dream to come back to Chelsea,’ the 31-year-old told talkSPORT. ‘Everyone knows the passion that I have for this club.
‘I have a lot of good memories from there… I still have dreams to play for this team. So if I can come back to Europe or to Chelsea, then hopefully we can talk.’
This year has been a dismal and chaotic season for Oscar’s former club, with Chelsea languishing in 12th place in the Premier League.
The Blues have had four separate managers in the dugout and are on course for their first bottom-half finish since the 1995-96 campaign despite spending more than £600m on 18 players across the summer and winter transfer windows.
Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is set to take over the helm for next season and he faces a significant job to get Chelsea back to their best.
Oscar enjoyed an impressive five-year spell with the Blues and was popular among their fans
He also backed incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino to be a success at Stamford Bridge
And Oscar only added to the speculation of a potential move by heaping praise on the Argentine coach.
He added: ‘He’s a good coach, he works very hard and Pochettino has a strong team, they play like a team normally.
‘Maybe this can help Chelsea for next season. I think he will help a lot. I think the players need to show the coach that they want to stay at Chelsea, they want to fight for everything.
‘When you play for Chelsea, the players have shown it’s not easy. It has pressure, you need to play to win. When you don’t win, it’s more difficult and they feel this.’
