Punter wins small fortune from 42p 15-fold bank holiday football accumulator

A football punter risked just 42p of their own money on a ridiculous 15-fold bank holiday accumulator – and walked away with a small fortune following Wilfried Zaha's 92nd minute winner.

The Crystal Palace forward struck in additional time to hand Patrick Vieira's side a 2-1 comeback win over Southampton at St Marys' – with Manchester City going on to complete the successful accumulator.

As well as Palace and City, wins were needed from Livingston, Aberdeen, Millwall, Nottingham Forest, Swindon, Tranmere, Dumbarton, St Mirren, Liverpool, Burnley, Aston Villa, Brighton and Bournemouth – with the flutter returning over £13,000.

William Hill spokesperson, Tony Kenny, said: "A couple of teams left it late, but after Burnley and Crystal Palace scored late winners over the weekend, one of our customers was left celebrating after successfully predicting the results of 15 separate matches.

"Having staked just 42p on the matches across England and Scotland, the punter took home a hefty £13,340.30.

"And there must have been some nervous moments with Palace leaving it until the 92nd minute to beat Southampton."
