Raphael Varane has confessed he is ‘out of his comfort zone’ at Man Utd

Raphael Varane has admitted that he is out of his comfort zone at Manchester United, after leaving Real Madrid this summer.

The French defender spent 10 years at Los Blancos before accepting a new challenge in the Premier League, and was signed alongside Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The World Cup winner is seen as one of the best defenders in world football, and United signed him for just £34million to partner captain Harry Maguire in a strong back four.

Despite the vast experience of Varane, the 28-year-old has admitted he is out of his comfort zone at Old Trafford.

Varane has undoubtedly made United a much stronger prospect at the back, and the Frenchman has admitted that he is happy with his Premier League experience so far, as he said: "I’m taking pleasure in playing, going out of my comfort zone, finding new bearing with my teammates.

"It’s a different way of defending and it’s super interesting for me."

Although English football may be unknown for Varane, one of the other new faces at United isn't, as the Frenchman reunited with Ronaldo this summer after spending seven years together at Madrid.

Varane signed for Madrid in 2011 as Ronaldo was really hitting his career heights, but the Portuguese star left in 2018 to join Juventus for a €100m (£88m) fee.

Against the odds the pair are now back on the same team, and look to succeed with United just like they did at Madrid, as both Ronaldo and Varane are serial winners.

Varane's experience and ability at the back could be priceless at the back during the bigger games this season, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to win his first trophy as United boss.
