Real Madrid hand unlikely debut to former Tranmere Rovers youth prospect Park

Real Madrid handed an unlikely debut to Marvin Park on Sunday night, who turned out for Tranmere Rovers' academy years ago.

The 20-year-old came off the bench for Rodrygo with the scores at 0-0 against Real Sociedad in their first La Liga game of the season.

It comes after he spent three years in the north-west of England with Tranmere Rovers.

But it has been a meteoric rise to the top for Park, who made his debut for Los Blancos in the process.

The Spaniard has been on the move quite a bit despite his young age.

But he has found a home at Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane a fan of his abilities.

In 2009, Park joined Tranmere Rovers as a nine-year-old and was there for three years before returning to Spain.

When back in his homeland, he played for Ciutat de Palma before developing at La Salle and Jonquet Penya Arrabal.

Madrid snapped up the youngster in 2016, where he has played ever since.

The forward has represented Spain at Under-19 level and has a Nigerian father and a South Korean mother.

Despite his short stint in England, he has spent his entire life in Spain, enjoying a fine campaign for Real Madrid B last season.

Zidane showed huge faith chucking on the youngster with 20 minutes against Real Sociedad with his side needing a goal.

But Park could not impact the scoreline and the match ended 0-0.
