  • Roberto Firmino has been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich
  • The Liverpool forward has been in impressive form domestically this campaign
  • However, the Reds look set to strengthen this summer and he could make way

Roberto Firmino has been contacted by Bayern Munich over a proposed summer switch, according to reports.

The Brazilian has been one of Liverpool’s key figures on their charge to the title this season, scoring eight times and claiming seven assists in the Premier League during this campaign.

However, the Reds look set to strengthen in the summer, with Timo Werner strongly linked with a move to Anfield.

Bayern Munich have contacted representatives of Roberto Firmino over a possible move

That has opened the door for the possibility of one of the club’s top forwards moving on, and according to The Transfer Window Podcast, Bayern have recognised this, using the opportunity to sound out Firmino.

Speaking on the podcast, pundit Ian McGarry said: ‘Interestingly, news is that Roberto Firmino’s representatives have been contacted by Bayern Munich in the last 10 days with regards to ‘would he be willing to leave Anfield?’

‘Would he be interested in a return to the Bundesliga? And would he be interested in becoming part of Bayern’s rebuild? Which of course they have been planning now since the beginning of last season.

‘Firmino may fit in very well as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski who may well move on, potentially to MLS in the summer.’

Firmino spent four seasons in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim before joining Liverpool in 2015.
