Chelsea flop Romelu Lukaku has reportedly has "held video calls" with former club Inter Milan with his future at Stamford Bridge now hanging by thread.
The Belgian striker re-joined the Blues last summer for a club record £97.5million, but aside from a strong first month or so has looked totally out of sorts all season.
During a controversial interview on Italian TV in December, the 28-year-old criticised manager Thomas Tuchel and confessed his love for Inter, vowing to return to the club one day. Ever since, he's struggled for form and goals and rumours of a summer exit have gone into overdrive.
Reports in Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim he's been in regular contact with Inter over the past few months and "not just as a courtesy WhatsApp or nostalgic calls to old teammates" either. There are also claims in Tuttosport he's asked the club's directors to bring him back to Milan, though due to the Nerazurri's poor financial state they'd only be able to afford him on loan.
Whether Lukaku will allowed to leave in the summer is a question without an answer at the moment, especially as Chelsea's takeover hasn't been completed yet. The striker will likely have to wait for the new owner to be confirmed before discussing a potential departure.

Lukaku has only scored 12 times all season for Chelsea, with just five of those coming in the Premier League, and Tuchel's patience with him appears to be running thin. He hasn't started a league match since February after falling behind make-shift striker Kai Havertz in the pecking order.
He came on as a substitute during the Blues' 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday night, spurning a glorious headed chance in the final few minutes to drag his side back into the tie.
