Brentford winger Said Benrahma has failed his West Ham medical with his hopes of a domestic deadline day transfer hanging by a thread, according to the Daily Mirror.
Benrahma had been expected to seal a move to the Hammers before the window for Premier League and EFL clubs to do business closes at 5pm tonight.
But his £25million switch to the London Stadium is now in serious doubt with it thought West Ham are desperately trying still to save a deal.
It is claimed that the Londoners learned of the setback early on Friday morning but are trying to prevent the move from suffering a total collapse in the final hours of the market.
A Brentford source told the Mirror: “Nothing has been done yet. Conversations are ongoing.”
West Ham have had to overcome hurdles just to get to this stage with Benrahma having fallen out with Brentford over his desire to move into England’s top flight.
The Algerian international’s future has been uncertain all summer after he produced 17 goals and 10 assists in 46 games last season.
He already has two goals this term too after a brilliant brace in the Bees’ Carabao Cup win over Fulham at the start of the month.
