Harvey Elliott has dived into his injury rehabilitation after successful surgery on his gruesome ankle dislocation, sharing a progress update.
The 18-year-old midfielder had just settled into a regular starting role in Jurgen Klopp’s star-packed Reds side when he twisted badly in a challenge with Leeds’ Pascal Struijk.
The Whites defender was sent off while Elliott departed on a stretcher, waving to the fans who expected a long-term lay-off for their new young hope.

Elliott has shared a snippet from his day as he crawls down the long road back to Anfield, donning an oxygen mask for a photo with the caption: ‘Small steps.’
The teenager is expected to return to Klopp’s XI later this season, with Reds doctor Jim Moxon explaining: ‘We were able to reduce the dislocation immediately on the pitch and Harvey had surgery to repair the fracture and ligaments damaged in the incident.
‘The operation was a success so his comeback starts now.
‘We won’t put pressure on him by setting a specific timeframe beyond being able to say with confidence we expect him to feature again later in the season following our rehab programme.’

Elliott came on as a late substitute for Liverpool’s opening day 3-0 victory over Norwich but having impressed Klopp in pre-season, the teen earned 90 minutes against Burnley.
He also played the duration in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea before being struck down 63 minutes into his performance against Leeds.
Klopp was enjoying Elliott’s youthful flair and directness this season, and they midfielder can expect more opportunities upon his return after a first-class audition.
Following his surgery, Elliott said: ‘Operation was a success! Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support.
‘The road to recovery starts now. At the end of the storm there’s a golden sky,’ he added, referencing a lyric from Liverpool’s ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ anthem.
