Tottenham are preparing to firm up their interest in Wolves winger Adama Traore ahead of this month’s transfer deadline, according to reports. The 25-year-old, who is also believed to be on Liverpool’s radar, often excelled under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo during his time in charge of the Molineux club.
Traore enjoyed a stellar 2019/20 campaign but struggled to replicate his best form last season, leading to speculation that he could be set for a change of scenery in the near future.
He has emerged as a potential target for Liverpool, who are believed to be keen on bolstering their ranks in attack.
The Spaniard has long been linked with the Reds and is yet to sign an extension to his current deal at Wolves, which expires in the summer of 2023.
Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a huge admirer of Traore and has regularly singled out the imposing winger for special praise during his time in charge on Merseyside.
Despite Liverpool’s reported interest in the Wolves man, it seems as though Spurs could be looking to swoop in and secure his services over the coming days.

Nuno wants to reunite with Traore in north London and is currently in the process of drawing up an offer with chairman Daniel Levy, according to AS.
The report claims that Wolves have slapped a £40million price tag on their player and would be prepared to sell if their demands are met.
The west Midlands outfit are said to have identified Valencia forward Goncalo Guedes as a possible replacement for Traore, suggesting that a move for the latter could soon be on the cards.
Spurs are reportedly willing to pay up in order to secure his services, with Nuno looking to add further quality to his ranks before the transfer window slams shut.
The Portuguese boss has already welcomed Bryan Gil, Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero through the door since taking charge earlier this summer.
Former Premier League striker Noel Whelan recently tipped Spurs to make a move for Traore, declaring that Nuno will be able to extract the very best from a player he knows so well.
“He’s a thrilling player, very direct,” Whelan told Football Insider.
“He improved a lot at Wolves in his time with Nuno Espirito Santo. The criticism was always that he had a lot of pace but his end product wasn’t there.
“We’ve seen that’s got a lot better. He has that trust with Nuno and I think the Tottenham fans would enjoy him. He can open up doors out of nothing.
“Liverpool and Leeds United have been interested in him in the past too, of course. So it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they enter talks over that one.
“We’ve seen many managers go back to their old clubs and take players from them. It’s something that’s only natural.”
