Goncalo Guedes was left out of Valencia’s squad to face Atalanta on Saturday night amid interest from Premier League clubs.

Wolves have been keen to sign the 25-year old forward if they can strike a deal with Valencia, who won the friendly over Italian opposition 2-1.

Wolves are keen to sign two forwards and are pursuing a number of options. They have spoken to Chelsea about a loan for Michy Batshuayi, and have offered £2m for Bordeaux striker Hwang Ui-Jo.

Valencia left Goncalo Guedes out of their pre-season friendly squad against Atalanta

Guedes has made over 140 appearances for Valencia, initially in a loan move in 2017, before making the permanent switch a year later.

He has also earned 32 caps for Portugal, being part of the squad that won the 2019 UEFA Nations League.

Batshuayi has not been given a squad number at Chelsea this season, with an expectation that he will be plying his trade away from Stamford Bridge soon.

His Chelsea deal only has a year left to run, hinting that the 28-year-old’s days with the Blues are numbered – but Wolves could offer a lifeline to see out his Chelsea contract with a sixth loan switch.

Meanwhile, progress has been made on the acquisition of 29-year-old Hwang from Bordeaux, with the French Ligue 2 side needing to sell before they can buy due to financial restrictions set about by their national association.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage is in need a new attacking option, after Raul Jimenez picked up a pre-season injury, and Fabio Silva was loaned to Belgian side Anderlecht.
