***UPDATE*** Saturday: ROSEHILL GARDENS (9 races, start 11.30am), IPSWICH (9 races, 11.38am), FLEMINGTON (9 races, 11.45am), MURRAY BRIDGE (9 races, 11.56pm), BELMONT (9 races, 1.53pm).

Check out their best and value bets:

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph) Form: 124×2

LACKEEN (Race 4, No.1 — $2.70)

Lackeen had five weeks between runs and jumped from 1500m to 2000m when narrowly beaten by Achiever in a strong form race at Rosehill. Lackeen has gone back to the trials since and his heat win at Randwick last week was quite outstanding. He meets main rivals No Compromise 4.5kg better at the weights this time. Ready to win.

Value bet: GEMMAHRA (Race 9, No.13 — $19)

SHAYNE O’CASS (Daily Telegraph) Form: x1

BERDIBEK (Race 7, No.7 — $11)

Berdibek is peaking for this one. He ran an eye-catcher in the Scone Cup despite his finishing position and then has no luck whatsoever in the Mubariz race here on June 5.

Value bet: BRING THE RANSOM (Race 8, No.8 — $26)

Berdibek looks a good chance at odds in the W.J. McKell CupSource:The Daily Telegraph

MITCH COHEN (Racenet) Form: 2x51x

VERBEK (Race 1, No.2 — $4.00)

A last start runner-up in the Listed The Phoenix should be good enough form for Verbek to be winning this in his return to Sydney. The Robert and Luke Price-trained gelding has finished runner up at each of his past three starts and is ready to break through with Hall Of Famer on board.

Value bet: ANETHOLE (Race 3, No.1 — $6.50)

JETT HATTON (Racenet) Form: 52521

KATALIN (Race 8, No.7 — $1.95)

With the scratching of Joviality, this Godolphin filly looks the good thing of the day. She’s bound for better races than this, James McDonald goes on board and given even luck it’s hard to see her not in the finish.

Value bet: SUNBORN (Race 5, No.14 — $13)

BRAD WATERS (Racenet) Form: 33×25

WITCHFULTHINKING (Race 4, No.4 – $4.60)

It took the smart Snickerdoodledandy to run her down last time but Witchfulthinking might get an even softer lead on Saturday and be tough to reel in.

BLOOD OATH (Race 3, No.6 – $14)

GILBERT GARDINER (Herald Sun). Form: 45422

EXPRESS PASS (Race 3, No.3 — $2.90)

Hard fit third-up and experienced down the straight with a pair of seconds from three prior attempts.

Value bet: AIDENSFIELD (Race 7, No.11 — $8.50)

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Racing News Editor) Form: 71943

CURRAN (Race 7, No.1 — $4.60)

Coming off a dominant win up the Flemington straight where he ran the equal best last 400m and 200m. He’ll be even better suited at 1200m.

Value bet: SARTORIAL SPLENDOR (Race 9, No.5 — $7.50)

GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun) Form: 21714

KURABUI (Race 5, No.9 — $1.85)

Could hardly have been more impressive with four straight wins and if we can get even money she looks a good bet.

Value bet: SARTORIAL SPLENDOR (Race 9, No.5 — $7.50)

SIMON MOY (NewsRacing) Form: 3×154

RED CAN MAN (Race 9, No.1 — $4.60)

Resumes on the back of an impressive trial hitout. Proven first-up and Jamie Kah takes the steer for debut in the east.

Value bet: RUBISAKI (Race 8, No.11 — $5)

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 11411

KURABUI (Race 5, No.9 — $1.85)

The Price and Kent Junior trained runner recorded a comfortable win at Sandown last start and despite the slight step up in grade should win again.

I anticipate she will get out slightly from the $1.85 currently available and start around even money.

Value bet: FLASH AAH (Ipswich Race 7, No.6 — $12)

TRENTON AKERS (Courier Mail). Form: x5781

AMISH BOY (Race 8, No.2 — $3.60)

He is the class horse in the race and is proven to fire in Queensland. Would have been a live hope in the Stradbroke a week ago had he got a run and now finds himself in lesser company. Drawn perfectly while key rivals are off the track.

Value bet: DERANI (Race 1, No.2 — $5)

NATHAN EXELBY (Sky Racing). Form: 30311

BOOMTOWN LASS (Race 9, No.2 — $5)

She’s a bridesmaid yes, but most of the time she’s forced to do it from wide gates. Gets the soft run for a change here, being able to sit behind what looks a good solid speed. She copes with this track well and was just fine first up. She’s sure to run you another honest race.

Value bet: OUR PLAYBOY (Race 5, No.3 — $9.50)
