Herald Sun form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over the eight-race card at The Valley on Friday night.
DESERT DREAMER (Race 3 No. 1 – $3.70)
Desert Dreamer has plenty of weight but he’s earned every kilo with a string of honest efforts this time in. He went close in a similar race last time out and is drawn to be hard to beat on a night that should favour those near the lead.
PASSIONATE LASS (Race 1 No. 3 – $2.25)
Hard not to be impressed with the way Passionate Lass led and controlled the race in her debut win at Mornington. From barrier two, there’s no reason she can’t get favourite backers off to a good start on Friday night.
METEORITE (Race 4, No. 5 – $2.40)
Meteorite blitzed his rivals to win in course record time three starts back and he returns to the 955m distance at The Valley. He’s in a race with plenty of speed but he might even be too fast for this lot.

PALUMBO (Race 6 No. 6 – $5.50)
Palumbo has improved at both runs back from a long spell and wasn’t far from the promising Tralee Rose at Flemington last time. She can race handy and might be ready to fire third-up.
HUNBOSHI (Race 7, No. 3 – $6.50)
Hunboshi is racing in a consistent vein of form and gets a chance to add another win to her tally at The Valley. She just gave too much start when a closing fourth at Flemington but is capable of racing closer to the speed. She’s a great each-way chance.
Luke Currie won the Manikato Stakes on Hey Doc at The Valley last month and has five good chances for more success at the track on Friday night.
KUNA MAGIC (Race 1 No. 1, $4.80), KATSUMA (Race 3 No. 5, $5), METEORITE (Race 4 No. 5, $2.40), NIGHT PASSAGE (Race 5, No. 9 $17), CRIMSON ACE (Race 7 No. 9 $4.40).
