Wednesday Warwick Farm meeting could be moved to Kensington

The state’s big wet continues to cause scheduling chaos with Racing NSW stewards monitoring the status of several key meetings as well as announcing a new timeslot for Saturday’s postponed Provincial Championships heat.

Stewards have already been forced to move Saturday’s Golden Slipper meeting and the entire Sydney Autumn Carnival back a week due to torrential downpours in the city over the past seven days.

Heats of the Provincial Championships and Country Championships were also postponed with a new date for the former announced on Sunday.

The Kembla Grange qualifier had to be moved to Goulburn on Saturday however that meeting never went ahead and the heat will now be staged back at Kembla on April 3.

Stewards and ATC officials will inspect Warwick Farm tomorrow morning to ascertain suitability to race on Weds. Should the track not be deemed suitable for racing, consideration will be given to transferring to the Kensington Track prior to acceptances being finalised

Meanwhile, Stewards will undertake a track inspection at Warwick Farm on Monday morning to ascertain if Wednesday’s meeting should be moved to the Randwick Kensington track before final acceptances on Monday.

An inspection of the Kensington track will also take place before the decision is made.

Monday’s transferred meeting from Goulburn to Queanbeyan is also under threat with stewards concerned with a section of the track at the 200m mark.

A total of 13mm has fallen on the track over the 24 hours before 2pm Sunday and the track is rated a Soft (6) away from the area of concern.

Stewards will inspect the Queanbeyan track at 6.30 Monday morning.

Lismore’s Monday meeting has already been abandoned while Hawkesbury trials scheduled for the same have been called off and Newcastle’s heats have been moved to Wednesday.
